Tour Itinarary

The Perth to Exmouth tour leaves Perth at 7:25 am and heads north along the coast, stopping for lunch by the Indian Ocean. The tour guide will lead a walk through the intriguing rock formations of the Pinnacles Desert. As the evening comes, the tour will pass through Geraldton before reaching the overnight destination of Kalbarri.

  • The hike distance is 2km with a grade of 1-2.

Today, explore Kalbarri National Park. Hike to Nature’s Window and witness a stunning rock formation. Take the Z Bend trail for breathtaking views of the park. In the afternoon, head to Shark Bay and visit a beach made of white cockle shells. Tonight, accommodation will be provided in Monkey Mia.

  • Optional activity is Kalbarri Abseiling Z-Bend.
  • The driving distance is 450km.

You can start the day with an adventure by abseiling down the gorge walls in Kalbarri National Park with Kalbarri Abseil. You don’t need any previous experience because full on-site training will be provided. All the necessary equipment will also be provided. If you want, you can have others take photos while participating. You can organize this adventure while on tour.

This morning, you will witness an iconic wildlife encounter in Australia. The Monkey Mia Dolphins will swim up close and be fed by hand in shallow water. Take some time relaxing on this stunning coastline before visiting the Stromatolites. These rock formations are made by a single-celled microbe estimated to be 3.7 billion years old. They are still thriving today. Tonight, you will journey towards Coral Bay and stay overnight on the edge of the Ningaloo Reef.

  • The hike distance is 2km with a Grade 1 difficulty level.

Explore the Ningaloo Reef in Coral Bay. Snorkel in the turquoise water just steps from the beach. Join a snorkel or dive tour to explore reefs further out. Enjoy the sun on the beach. Later, travel to Exmouth.

  • Accommodations are at Potshot Hotel Resort Backpacker Dorms or a similar option with shared bathroom facilities. Activities available include swimming with Manta Rays, snorkelling Ningaloo Reef, and taking Glass Bottom Boat Tours.
  • Please note that guests cannot book Whaleshark Swims on this day as they return after the bus has left Coral Bay.
  • The driving distance is 155km with a Grade 1 difficulty level.

Optional Activities: (pre-booking is recommended)
Snorkel with Manta Rays on the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours (only for competent swimmers).

You can enjoy a 5-6 hour tour of the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours. The tour includes all necessary equipment, such as a wetsuit, morning and afternoon tea, and a buffet lunch of cold meats and salads. During the tour, you can witness the graceful dance of manta rays and experience two snorkels at the reef, where you will see a variety of beautiful fish, corals, and possibly sea turtles and reef sharks. The tour also includes visiting the turtle sanctuary, where you can observe turtles coming up for air in the shallow waters.
You can experience a glass-bottom boat tour on the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours.
Take a tour of the Ninglao Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours. Hop on their glass bottom boat and see tropical and temperate fish and corals through the glass. You can choose from 1, 2, or 3-hour journeys. The 1-hour journey is for glass viewing only. The 2-hour trip includes a glass viewing and a snorkel site. The 3-hour trip includes glass viewing, snorkelling, and visiting the turtle sanctuary. You can watch turtles feed at the refuge and open for air in the shallows. The skipper might even try to get the turtles under the glass for you. Snorkel tours come with equipment.
Guests cannot book Whaleshark Swims on Day 4 as they return after the bus has already departed from Coral Bay. All optional activities in Coral Bay must be completed by 3:45-4:00 pm.

Today, you will visit Cape Range National Park. You will see breathtaking sights of limestone ranges, canyons, and beautiful beaches. Enjoy stops at Turquoise Bay, Vlamingh Head Lighthouse, and Milyering Visitors Center. The tour will conclude in the late afternoon, making it a perfect way to end your Perth to Exmouth tour.

  • Two swimming options are available: Whaleshark from March to September or Humpback from August to October. Pre-booking is required for this activity.
  • The driving distance is 135km, and the hiking distance is 1km, rated Grade 1-2.

Optional Activities: (pre-booking is recommended)

From March to August, Exmouth Dive Centre offers the opportunity to swim with Whalesharks and Humpback Whales. Snorkelling is available for competent swimmers only.

Join Exmouth Dive Centre for a day on the water. Start with a reef snorkel to see coral gardens and fish. You might see turtles or reef sharks. Then, they’ll search for humpback whales and whale sharks with a spotter plane. The humpback whale swim depends on the whale’s willingness. If they aren’t cooperative, the plane will search for another group. All equipment is provided, including wetsuits if needed. Morning and afternoon tea, as well as a buffet lunch, are included.
