PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR
3 Days/2 Nights – GUIDED TOUR
“WE TAKE YOUR LENS WERE OTHERS CAN’T” – View photographic images

“We spent three fabulous days exploring King Island on a 3 day photography tour with the lot. In addition to visiting breath taking locations in the Oka 4 wheel drive, to get some awesome photographic opportunities, Ian and Lucinda provided us with a complete King Island experience.Their dedication to catering for all our meals with fabulous King Island produce combined with the wealth of local knowledge made for a top weekend.  Great people, great scenery and great food, couldn’t have asked for more. Greg, Val & Tony give you ten out of ten.” More great comments

DAY ONE: At the King Island Airport you will be met  by your local tour leader.  Your first stop will be a foreshore scenic photo shoot taking in the lighthouse with afternoon tea at the Boathouse before continuing on to the Museum for a visit and external photo shoot of the Museum and then on to the Kelp factory and beach for a trio photo shoot.   From here we head of to our accommodation, King Island Wilderness Retreat, settle in for your evening meal and your photographic Nocturnal Night Tour.
DAY TWO:Begins with dawn breaker shots and breakfast on location. From here we explore the coast taking in numerous wildlife shots.  From this point we travel back to our accommodation, with photographic opportunities along the way.   A chance to freshen up and relax.   Lunch today will be served in house.  Depending on the time of the year, we leave the accommodation and break from the normal road network and discover the Southern end of the Island, taking in some rugged coastline and seeing, Turkeys, Pheasants , Peacocks and the Rufus & Bennett’s Wallabies, Shorebirds like Oysters Catchers, Ruddy Turnstones, Fairy Tern, Broad Billed Prion – Just to mention a few.  There is so much to see and do in this area, the tour becomes flexible on a majority preference for example we may take in the Calcified Forest, Seal Rocks, Stokes Point, Sealers Wall, the wreck site of the Cataraqui , however there is one thing  for sure you will need lots of memory card as it will be filled with lots of photographic opportunities.   Returning to our accommodation and evening meal.

DAY THREE: After breakfast we head off to shoot the North end of the Island.  With some of the wonders of the world waiting for light and shade, depth of field at your figure tips. Wickham Lighthouse,  the tallest Lighthouse in the Southern Hemisphere,  Victoria Cove, always picturesque.   Penny’s Lagoon, the smallest suspended lake in the world a photographer’s delight where we will also break for lunch.  From here we journey to Lavinia beach, great wave action shots to be had,  and then on to the wreck of the Shannon, the walk in offers a panoramic shots overlooking Yellow Rock River and the rolling farmland. From here we adventure onto Disappointment Bay, Whistlers Point.
There we travel down to the famous King Island Cheese Factory to learn about the history of cheese making on the island. A foodies shot to be had inside the Fromagerie area and a chance to sample and take home a selection of King Island Cheese. From here we make our way to the airport before departure.
