DAY ONE – On your arrival at King Island Airport you will be greeted by our friendly local guide and taken to the famous King Island Bakery for lunch where you can select from the extensive menu of gourmet pies, sandwiches cakes and

coffee.   As you walk about the town of Currie and stroll down to the harbour, passing the early settlers graves, you will gain an insight into the township of Currie. From the harbour we will take a short trip to the interesting Kelp Factory and seaweed industry of King Island and then we leave the road and journey along the beach to the memorial plaque of the Admiralty. From here we will visit the historical Museum of King Island which will give you an insight into the history of King Island and then onto your accommodation. After dinner, there is a Nocturnal tour taking in the Fairy Penguins for those who wish to.

DAY TWO – Your tour begins with a talk about the once mining town of Grassy and then onto to the main Port of King Island, Grassy Harbour, taking in the local Art & Craft Gallery. Continuing south, we leave the main road and take you on an unforgettable experience, seeing nature at its best – wild peacocks, wallabies, turkeys and pheasants in their natural surroundings. In a tranquil location we will break for morning tea and learn a little more about our early settlers. From there our journey takes us along the coastal sand tracks, exploring bays, coves and sweeping beaches, reaching Seal River, which is a photographer’s delight, more often than not, casting mirror images of scenery, then on to big lake. Depending on the time of year, we see large numbers of wading birds and gliding swans. Penetrating further south on to Surprise Bay Next stop, Sealers wall where you will be told about the terrible tale. On route to the southern tip of King Island, you will be amazed to see the bull kelp cast along the rugged coastline, where you will gain an insight to the Kelp carters of the King Island. Arriving at the southern end of the Island, one can quite often sees giant sponges and unusual flotsam and jetsam washed around the coastline with its cranky tidal movements. From here we travel to the Calcified Forest where we will break for lunch. Next stop seal rocks and then onwards to the tragic wreck site of the Cataraqui, Australia’s worst ever peacetime, maritime disaster. Returning back to your accommodation.

DAY THREE – Begins with a meander North through country roads leading us to the tallest lighthouse in the Southern Hemisphere. This area is entrenched with early settlement history. From there, a short journey will take you to the smallest suspended lake in the world, an ideal location for morning tea. Continuing on to one of the most pristine, wave action beaches you will see anywhere in Australia. Back on the coach, depending on tidal, time and weather conditions, will see us visit sites like Yellow Rock Beach, Wreak of the Shannon, Blow Hole, Sea Elephant River, home of King Island Oyster lease, the wetlands lookout and a comprehensive visit to Naracoopa area which will see us determine where we stop for lunch. From Naracoopa, exploring further along the east coast, will eventually see us back at our accommodation for your farewell dinner.
